Ultimate Pro – What You Really Need To Be A Successful MUA...
Our Ultimate Pro Makeup Artistry course is starting on 21st March 2022 & we cannot wait!
It’s been perfectly designed for anyone who is looking to become a successful Makeup Artist.
Now, that might sound like you? You might be thinking, ‘I really want to be a Makeup Artist, I just don't know where to start’. You might see other people living out their dream as Makeup Artists & wonder what they had to do to get there! The problem is just like every other industry, it can be a struggle to the top & not everyone is willing to share all the important info.
Here at CLMA we pull down that barrier. We want new, incredible artists to have a clear pathway into the industry, and that's why we offer 5* training & an incredible aftercare programme.
So, what does it take & what skills do you need to be a Makeup Artist?
Firstly, you’re going to want & need the best training you can get.
Different schools & academies will offer different course lengths, prices & extra bonuses. You can’t become a chef, a designer, a decorator from just two days worth of training and the same rule applies for makeup.
Yes, there’s lots of learning on the job. Practice & experience is needed but if you’re going for a job with the bare bones of training, how can you have all the skills you will need?
If you were a client paying someone £200-£300 a day, you would want to be confident that your artist has trained in various skillsets & can work to a brief. If you were a Bride you wouldn’t pay a premium price for an artist who only had 16 hours of training.
We want you to hit the ground running in the industry, be confident & be a great Makeup Artist & unfortunately the answer isn’t quick training.
Its also now important as a Makeup Artist working in fashion or e-comm that you can offer basic hair styling. Especially if you’re living in the North. Companies such as; PLT, Missguided, ASOS & Beauty Bay require both hair & makeup from the same artist on the job. This is an important factor to think about when booking a makeup course, will there be any hair training? Business training? SFX & film? Editorial makeup?
You should be asking yourself all of the above before deciding which course is right for you!
We re-train many students who have previously trained elsewhere but haven’t received the support or a suitable kit to get started with.
As a Makeup Artist your makeup kit is super important, you really can’t do your job without it!
CLMA provides every student with a full makeup kit & brush set, (included in the course cost) to ensure students can practice with quality products. We include brands such as MAC, Nars, Kiko and Daniel Sandler.
Now, we know there is no better feeling than finishing your course; receiving your certificate & becoming a fully qualified MUA, but how do you get work? How do you market yourself? How do you gain clients?
Our Manchester makeup school is the only UK makeup school with an aftercare support programme, we are the only makeup academy that offers free on-going masterclasses & we are the only academy with a sister agency, Creatives Agency, for you to work towards.
Our open door policy means that you never really leave the CLMA family, our door is always open for advice & the team is on hand to answer any questions.
We teach you how to get makeup clients, how to make sure those clients keep coming back, running your own business & how to build your brand!
That is why we are the best at what we do & to be the best you need to train with the best.
That might sound very bold of us... But that’s because we can confidently say, no one does it like CLMA!
